Happy Children June 2010

45 children aged between 3 to 16 from the Lotus Children's Center were made happy for at least a little this summer.
During my trip back to Mongolia, I had a chance to visit children's organizations, orphanages in Ulaanbaatar. Among them, Lotus Children's Organization had three centers in Mongolia, one being the home of 45 orphans and children of age between 3-16 located in Bayanzurh District of Ulaanbaatar. Our limited funds were just enough to buy new summer sandals, and some lollipop and cookies for each of these 45 children at Bayanzurh House. Looking at the smiley happy faces of the children I was given the greatest energy and inspirations, that I'm sure many people would have experienced.
Take a moment to look at the photos of the children.
Thanks everyone for your help and support to make this happen. Thanks for visiting the website.

Fundraising for the Street Children in Mongolia

Our advocacy group have accomplished an enormous success in just two days. On the first day, we have distributed over 250 fliers to our neighborhood in the Bay Area, California, raising awareness about the "Street children in Mongolia" and how they survive in Mongolian society. On the second day, we have gone around the neighborhood asking for contribution to our mission to help the homeless children in Mongolia. We have received huge support from everyone. Not only support, but our community has given us so much encouragement and inspiration to stay devoted in our mission. We have raised total of one hundred and one dollar in just couple hours from our neighborhood. This translates to one hundred and forty thousand Mongolian currency. I would like to thank the community in your generous support. Your contribution means a lot to the "Street children in Mongolia", and it makes a huge difference to them.  Please stay connected with us and we will keep you updated about the progress of our mission in helping the homeless children.

Help the Street Children in Mongolia!

An estimated 3,000-4,000 children live on the streets of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia.  Living in sewers, they are known as "sewer kids".

Many of these children left their poor rural homes because of family   violence and abuse.

64 % are aged between 9 and 14.

Children forage through rubbish, polish shoes, and act as porters, beg or steal, and act as gravediggers just to stay alive

They fight for territory, suffer servitude by homeless adults, sell their bodies -- or face the danger of being kidnapped by child traffickers.

The government lacks the resources to take care of these children.

There are 22 care centers/shelters for street children in Ulaanbaatar, accommodating 800 children as of 2002. The rest of the homeless children are unattended without the care of anyone.

These street children have
              No Food
              No Home
              No Education

But they have HOPE to live someday like a regular person, attend school and have a job.

You can help these children today!

Your contribution of
$5 could provide them with 10 days of food,
$3 – a week,
$1 -  2 days.
Please donate below! Thank You!
